Question:
Can I switch personal injury lawyers?
Answer:
You can always switch personal injury attorneys halfway through a case and you would only pay one fee. For instance, when you contract with an attorney, the fee is probably around one-third, a contingency fee. That’s the third you pay. If you go through two attorneys, you’re still paying one-third, but they have to divide it among themselves. You don’t pay any more money by switching attorneys. If your attorney is not answering your telephone calls, and is not responding to your questions, then find one who does.
We have people in my office who answer all the calls immediately. If somebody calls me, I promise, if I’m in the office, I’ll take the call. If not, they’ll hear back from me within 24 hours. I like to keep in touch with my clients. I answer all questions. You need to find a lawyer who will always be there for you, who will always service your case, and will always explain to you exactly what is going on with your case. If your lawyer is not responding to your calls, not responding to your questions, find someone who does.
